The competition called for the reconfiguration of Lisboa's new cultural district at the

river Tajo's north shore in Belém. The proposal understood the challenge as an

opportunity to provide Lisboa with a new civic district, where the cultural component

would be just one of the many elements that would define the intensity of urban life in

the area.
